Today’s heavy news of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine seemed to set a precedence for today’s local news cycle. In that, the stories would not be of the positive variety.
On today’s podcast, we take an in-depth look at the town’s independent, third-party expert findings and review of the Estes Park Police Department to determine whether there was any knowledge within the department of the domestic violence committed by former Captain Eric Rose and compare their findings with that of the Larimer County District Attorney’s findings.
I also discuss my concerns with three complaints made against Rose early in his career with the Estes Park PD. Two of which were substantiated. Unfortunately we have no details regarding these complaints due to the Estes Park PD policy on keeping Internal Affairs records, which are destroyed after ten years. We also discuss this morning’s announcement that Estes Park School District Superintendent Sheldon Rosenkrance has applied for the Superintendent position in the Summit School District and is now going through the interview process. Summit School District will announce the final decision on March 15th. If he gets the job, he will be leaving his position here in Estes Park. (At 27 minutes into the podcast.)
