A status conference was held on Monday, November 8th in the Larimer County Justice Court for defendant Jacobo Wright Mendoza, who has been charged with thirteen multiple felony counts stemming from the alleged attempted kidnapping and murder of a 16-year-old girl who escaped from his vehicle in Glen Haven on July 15, 2021.
Mendoza, clad in an orange Larimer County Corrections jumpsuit and yellow plastic shower sandals, appeared in court with his wrists and ankles shackled, a chain padlocked at his waist. He remains in the Larimer County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond. Daniel Jasinski, Mendoza’s court-appointed attorney, told Judge Laurie Dean that he has requested a routine mental evaluation be performed on Mr. Mendoza.
The prosecuting attorney for the State of Colorado, Laura Hinojos, requested the court provide a language interpreter for the victim’s mother for Mendoza’s next scheduled hearing, on December 20th.
